North King Street has a brewery licence, but no pub licence. They’re established publicans elsewhere, they can probably find and afford one.

The old Dublin Brewing Company taproom there never had one, ran in a definitely illegal but just about grey enough to get away with “entry prices are extremely high and cover food, but the beer is free” basis as far as I can tell. Actually advertised on that basis that for work parties.

There are still some bits and pieces of Macardle brewing heritage on the Dundalk site, which I’d hope are kept somehow. Includes the tasting/tours bar, which they reopened for a former staff night a few months ago.
I have been drinking more Pearse Lyons stuff in recent months, mainly because it’s quite cheap for what it is. O’Haras have preserved the Boyne Brewhouse brand for 5.5 years now, so I’d assume at very least the brand names will be kept; not that they’re particularly strong

Used some in Brew Dock quite recently, but specifically with the lad I suspect is the manager.

Interesting that I’ve not seen any yet before, should be plenty of May 26 dated stock around, although maybe a lot of Irish products having 6 or 9 month BBE windows may have stopped much getting out.

On a side note to that, I got a bottled beer in a hotel in Zurich last week with a BBE date in late 2027! Assuming 24 months.

I’d massively prefer the 6th to the 13th, and although I made it to a previous years one (2023?) a day after a work party before, this year that party is directly after I get off a plane from a work pissup in Zurich!
I’d also suggest maybe a new thread, cause some people are going to miss the 2024 in the title for this one.

Saw huge sign boards up in my local train station today – no DART south of Grand Canal Dock all weekend; and the last train back to Maynooth on Saturday is 1932 from Connolly.
Starting to regret not going for Friday tickets instead.
