Continuing on from the “How many Irish breweries in planning phase?” thread from the old forum.
I see the Changing Times brewery, being built by the consortium of Chalke and Anderson pubs with input from Shane Long, has been licensed.
27/08/2024 at 1:31 pm #806TheBeerNutKeymasterThe Independent is reporting a planning application for a brewery with taproom in Wexford town. Reference 20240976 on the Wexford planning portal.
03/09/2024 at 11:03 am #809Oscar ABottleofAleParticipantIs the Wexford one possibly Yellowbelly or is it Brennans?
03/09/2024 at 11:06 am #810TheBeerNutKeymasterI don’t think it’s either. The recent press information about Brennan’s, that I’ve seen, makes no mention of a production brewery. And I very much doubt YellowBelly will try and start a new one.
03/09/2024 at 2:32 pm #811Oscar ABottleofAleParticipantIsn’t Brennans John like that outfit that existed up around the Louth-Down border?
03/09/2024 at 2:34 pm #812TheBeerNutKeymasterI think it’s just a straightforward contract brewed beer.
03/09/2024 at 2:51 pm #813Oscar ABottleofAleParticipantIf Brennans were open about it, there would be no problem. Given that contract brewing could be a good way of testing the waters.
03/09/2024 at 3:36 pm #814Oscar ABottleofAleParticipantI found an article about that new to be built brewery in Glasnevin for a number of pubs in Dublin. Reminds me of the club brewery for the working men’s clubs in Britain.

17/09/2024 at 10:46 am #865irish_goatParticipantNot sure if this counts but Proiry Brewery have installed a new kit so presumably should have beer back out soon. Untappd showing no check-ins for them since June 2021.
17/09/2024 at 11:00 am #866TheBeerNutKeymasterThey mothballed the place during Covid. As far as I’m aware they didn’t have any actual employees so it wasn’t difficult to do.
17/09/2024 at 11:28 am #867Oscar ABottleofAleParticipantI guess the amount of brewers in Ireland like the USA is lower than the often trotted out amount
27/11/2024 at 10:55 pm #978TheBeerNutKeymasterAs mentioned by Lugh at the AGM: Blarney Brewing is being set up, with Get ‘Er Brewed supplying a Brewiks kit. They’re on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/blarneybrewingco
27/11/2024 at 11:50 pm #979Oscar ABottleofAleParticipantIf they are being honest good luck to them.
