Looks like Cavan has a new brewery: Bréifne Gael, just outside Cavan town.

Yeah, I know the Brewer, he’s won gold at a few National Homebrew competitions over the last few years.

Very good Brewer, and I’ve even brewed with him, we did an Imperial Stout together a few years ago.

He has a channel on YouTube documenting the process from initial concept through to securing a premises and the licensing process, pretty interesting for anyone into that sort of thing.

Beers now on sale. I’m hoping to call to the brewery on the way down to Mullingar, or at least pick up a few bottles.

Thanks for the bottle, IG. It’s an excellent stout.

Nay bother. Very enjoyable stout and definitely great complexity for a 4.3%. The rest of the range was sold out and he was saying his plan is to focus on Cavan for now so I’d imagine you’ll not see much elsewhere in the early days.

Gotta respect keeping it local, but I hope the Cavan folk appreciate what they’ve got.
