This is bizarre: You soon won’t be able to use a supermarket loyalty card to get discounts on alcohol.

Surely the lower price for Clubcard holders isn’t a discount, but a punishment for deigning not to have a Clubcard. Why wouldn’t the supermarkets simply take the hit on not getting the Clubcard data but keeping the price at what’s often the legal minimum?
