Offered: rotakeg 14 years 3 months ago #1

I have a Rotakeg in my attic from years back. I also have glass demijohns (gallon), tubing, hydrometers etc.

I am offering these as a gift/or long term loan to any Dublin-based (for convenience) home brewers.

I also have a supply (from work) of 25L plastic containers with screw capped lids. These would have had IMS (Industrial Methylated Spirits - low grade ethanol), or Absolute Ethanol in them. So, in other words, they are clean.

For those of you unfamiliar with these barrels, Rotokegs are a better version of of the plastic barrels I am offering.

They have wider necks, so they are easier to clean and they, usually include a floating dispensing system, so the beer is drawn from the top of keg rather than the bottom, thus minimising the amount of sediment drawn into the glass.

As they don't make them any more, it can be difficult to get parts for them, but, as far as I am aware, the lids, taps, ring seals, etc. designed for king kegs, will fit rotokegs too, if replacements are needed.

The rest sounds perfect for anyone who wants to get into the hobby.

The 25L plastic containers sound perfect for fermentors and they really couldn't have contained anything better. A good rinse out is all they need. Put me down for one please!

This is a great start to Market square, and exactly what we need, spreading the love! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Can I ask about those 25l containers DrJohn? WHat kind of diamter is the top? Would you fit your hand in, or is it like a watercooler bottle? Also, are they clear or coloured? They sound ideal either way!

25 Litre containers 14 years 3 months ago #4

The diameter of the lid/opening is about 6cm (2 and a half inches in old money!), so unless you have a very petite hand forget it!

Can you post a picture of the 25L plastic containers with screw capped lids?
