As a father of three small kids and hence, have zero time to go to the pub, plus living in the boondocks of South Tipperary, means most of my quality drinking time is at home with one or two beers. That being said, I try my best to make those beers worthwhile and have developed a fairly accurate account of the off licenses close to home that carry decent beer. As most of us can attest to, Dublin has the lion’s share of quality premises, but I’m wondering outside of the M50, any smaller market gems out there? For example, Clonmel wouldn’t be what a beer aficionado would call “Mecca” but there are a few spots like Eldons and Daybreak in Clerihan that would carry decent enough stock. Any other hidden gems out there?
