Ireland's national beer festival 1 month 4 weeks ago #1

I got a query in asking for details of Ireland's national-level beer festival. I think I heard that the ICBI may be planning a new one, but otherwise I don't think we have what would normally be understood by the term.

But I was wondering: would it be fair to classify the Franciscan Well Easter Festival as Ireland's national festival? It takes place pretty consistently, it's been the launching point for many a new brewery, and while only a minority of breweries attend, there's generally a decent spread from around the country. Until something bigger is established, is this our national festival, or am I just an old man hankering after the 2010s when life was simpler?

It is certainly my favourite, it's the brewers festival, although the cask fest has a place in my heart too.
That's it decided then it has been endorsed by me!

Certainly my favourite festival of the year. I do yearn for a big beer festival all the same. 2015/16 style.
