Kinsale brew hop poll 7 years 6 months ago #7

Bit of a turnaround there TBN[/quote:2wuargxt]To clarify, I think there's a difference between a tried and tested recipe from a brewer I trust, and new one designed by a committee.

Let's not argue lads, whack cascade into the poll sure,no harm in it. It is a very good bittering hop too like.

The way I see it is we have been given the chance to do what very few people get the chance to do. Design a recipe and have it brewed buy a professional brewery. Blacks so far have been one of the most experimental brewery's on the island. Hop randle at the RDS. Black IPA's and mini kegs. Sam like many if us is a hop head and I'm sure he wants to try something new and exciting. Me personally I would see it was a bit of a waste of an opportunity using cascade when we have the chance to do brew something that has never been done here before. My 2 cents anyway.
It would be great to hear from some other people on the list.

Altering the vote will likely clear the 30 votes we already have. I was thinking that this was more about selecting our newer hops, likely for aroma. I think bittering with cascade would be a good idea but doesn't need to be in the poll as such.

What he said.
To me, using Cascade in this situation would be like going to a 5 star restaurant and ordering the burger.

Also what he said; don't want to break the poll (and not even sure how to change it, tbh) so leaving Cascade out for now.

I'm not opposed to bittering with Cascade, I'm just not sure why you would - low AA% makes it not very cost effective.

[b:u0fvuhj5]Poll closes Monday noon-ish, btw.[/b:u0fvuhj5]
