One of the topics that has come up at EBCU meetings recently is the positive role that beer can play in wellbeing, offering a counter-narrative to the consistently negative stance that the various health-based organisations take towards alcohol. Yes there are health problems associated with alcohol consumption, but by and large we drink it because it has a positive social effect and is therefore beneficial to wellbeing.
