Wicklow Day Out: 29th June

Post by TheBeerNut » Fri Mar 29, 2019 11:29 am

We still have an invitation from Dundalk Bay Brewery to visit. I was thinking we could combine it with a trip to Carlingford Brewery and maybe Station Works if they're amenable. Beoir can arrange a bus for the day from central Dublin.

But which day? I've set a poll to pick a date in late June. Vote for your preference, but please don't vote for a day you can't make. Comments and suggestions are welcome in the replies.

Open to all three dates, but 29th of June is my preference.

OK, so let's run with the 29th.

Next question: are you interested in going?

If we can get a minibus-worth of names, I'll start making arrangements.

Update, and request for input:

I got an email from Dundalk Bay over the weekend to say they can't open the brewery at weekends  so that bit's off. I had mailed Carlingford about booking in but they haven't got back to me. I noticed on their online booking engine that the 29th wasn't available for tours, but I don't know if that means they're closed completely or what.

So. I'm still willing to put together a daytrip somewhere on the 29th. Any ideas?

What about going the other direction?
O Brother?
Wicklow Brewery?
Wicklow Wolf?
YellowBelly?

Just a few I can think of in that general direction?

Quick update: Wicklow Wolf and Larkin's both said yes. Waiting to hear from O Brother. I was thinking those three plus food at Wicklow Brewery should be enough for a full day out.

That sounds like an excellent day out. I would be happy to proceed even without O Brother.
