Actually, correction there is a pub called the Linx, AKA The Widows, in Portmarnock village. Been a while since I drank there, but I wouldn't expect much craft beer.

Ah yes, I forgot about that, I stand corrected.

Re: Craft beer in Portmarnock?

Great news, it turns out we're going to swords now!! If I can only advise one spot for all the attic bar?? The attic - hands down. The best spot in Swords! Can't remember if I listed it here. It's upstairs in The Pound, only open Thursday to Sunday, if you have FB they're here https://www.facebook....

Yeah, I thought so. It's the best man's choice unfortionatly, best stock up myself before hand! Thanks guys. No worries, I'm still confused though.. if you're just staying at the hotel in Portmarnock then the above are your options for nearby, otherwise there is nothing at all (not just no craft be...

Re: Wetherspoon set to open up to 30 pubs in Irela

Location Location Location The Leeds Train Station one is perfect for the quick pint before getting the train home or wherever, it is however not a place you'd go on a session in They are obviously doing something right - I do think that they maybe slow to roll out cask to the same extent here - bu...

Re: Craft beer in Portmarnock?

Is it a golf stag ? Can't imagine why else anyone would have a stag here. Best bet is bus or taxi 5 minutes to Malahide where all the pubs have some limited craft beer. There's a complimentary bus back to Tamangoes at closing time if you're that way inclined. I was just about to chime in with this....

Re: Kilner Cider Kit

Difficult to advise as I have not seen all the contents of the kit. Apart from the mechanics of the kits there should be some apple concentrate, yeast, nutrients (maybe in with the yeast) and the instruction to use 1 or 2 kg of sugar. There may be a little sachet of apple flavouring. If so beware a...

Re: New Kildare based brewery?

Every single one of them on Linkedin are connected to Molson Coors. Either a group of commercial directors upped and left to start their own massive operation or they've all been told to not mention the involvement by MC and to make it appear as if it's a new brewery. I know what I think it is. The...

Pint Spotting

Bull & Castle got six kegs of Trouble Pumpkin in today. They told me they're flying through the stuff so go get some quick! Also, they'll have it on cask very soon too. ALSO, they're doing growler fills... just sayin'

Anything else spotted around town?
