Re: How many Irish breweries in planning phase?

Craic Brewing are launching next week. Think the idea is they're opening a pub and then installing a microbrewery at a later date.

Few early bird offers on tickets if anyone is heading up to Belfast this year.

They'd still need a licence. G'wan, ask 'em where it's made. I think this is the cidery, if you recognise the place. (same place Legacy Cider is made, I believe) https://scontent-arn2-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/50218592_10157050164887769_3254575051239849984_o.jpg?_nc_cat=100&_nc_ht=scontent-arn2-2.xx&...

Whilst not concrete, the photo on Facebook has a lorry load of bottles and a few IBCs in the back. Would suggest they at least do the fermenting themselves.

Re: Closed breweries

I wonder why? Carrigs beers are better. I'm guessing it's for "route to market"- Bru became Spar's discount branded beer (before Arthurstown). Or maybe they want the pubs... I sometimes got the feeling from various sources that Brú were always interested in cashing in at some stage. Although, obvio...

Re: Belfast craft beer pubs

There's Wetherspoons if you want cask beer. Their fridges normally have some decent bottles and cans at good prices too.

Only other suggestion would be The Green Room. It's a theatre cafe bar but has a decent selection of craft beer. No loud music as far as I remember.
