Re: Wicklow Day Out: 29th June

I'd love to come.

Just one query.

I'll be travelling with my guide dog.
Do you know if Larkins or Wicklow Wolf will have any issues with the guide dog in the brewery?

Naturally being a guide dog she is clean, well behaved etc.

Re: Belfast craft beer pubs

hi all, Quick update on my trip to Belfast last week. The good: Bittles I think got the award for best bar on the trip. It had a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and an interesting selection of draft and bottle beers. Another lovely spot was the taproom at the hildon brewery. They had all of Hilddo...

Belfast craft beer pubs

hi all, Heading to Belfast this weekend and hoping to hit a number of the craft beer pubs in the city. Have done some research on the best places but would also be interested in the opinions of the Beoir members who have been to Belfast more regularly over the years. Obviously the pubs need to have ...

good craft beer locations in Finsbury and Islington

hi all, Visiting London next month for a short break. Will be staying in Finsbury and was wondering if people had any stand out locations for craft beer around there in the general area e.g. Islington etc. Free time is a bit restricted while there, so don't really have time to commute half way acros...

Re: reccomendations for session pale ails in 500ml bottles/c

hi again,

One beer which I think fits this description, but which I haven't noticed in a long while is Bo Bristle.

Anybody know if they are still available?

Looking at their twitter feed, looks like that has been very quiet recently.

Re: reccomendations for session pale ails in 500ml bottles/c

hi, Is Crafty Divill's beer widely available in Dublin off licenses? Need to check out the James Brown one also. Bucket and Spade is really a rye ale. Very nice, but I'm looking for that American hoppyness aspect! I do remember Boom from a good while back. I hadn't seen it around for ages so wondere...

Re: reccomendations for session pale ails in 500ml bottles/c

hi, Will check out the Lough Gill beers when I come across them. Yes, I know Punk is in 500 ml cans. Certainly tempting, though a nudge above the 5% cut off! The Magic Rock and Cloudwater I've come across so far are above 5% ... Though they are certainly nice! As regards why 500ml as opposed of 330 ...

reccomendations for session pale ails in 500ml bottles/cans?

hi, Any recommendations for hoppy pale ales in 500ml bottles/cans suitable for a session? What I'm thinking of is beers like Founders All Day IPA, Yellow Belly Citra, White Hag's Little Fawn, Dead Pony Club ... and that sort of thing. All of these beers come in 330ml bottles or cans. You'd think for...

Re: Recommendation for craft beer pub in Cork city

hi, Just for the record made it to the Beirhaus over the weekend. It was quite late on the Saturday night when we got there, so wouldn't have been my preferred time! Mosaic seemed to be all the rage, which is fine with me as its a hop variety I have a lot of time for. Kinsale had a Mosaic IPA and Fo...

Re: Recommendation for craft beer pub in Cork city

hi Dave-o, We are staying in the Clarion hotel, which I think is on Latch Quay? The Beirhaus is on Pope's Quay, so I'm assuming its pretty close then. Seems Cork lacks a craft beer pub which does the variety of food you might find in a GBB bar or J. W. Sweetman in Dublin. Looks like the eating and d...

Re: Recommendation for craft beer pub in Cork city

Thanks all for the responses. Seems the Bierhaus leads the way. Pity no food available on site ... Out of interest Dave-o, any thoughts on Elbow Lane and the Cotton Ball. Not sure how central they are, particularly the Cotton Ball. Is Franciscan Well worth visiting or do they concentrate mainly on t...

Recommendation for craft beer pub in Cork city

hi all, Visiting Cork city next weekend and was looking for good recommendations for craft beer pubs. We'd be looking for aplace which had good food and was *relatively* quiet for a Saturday night. By that I mean a place you can have a conversation in and which does not play loud music. Of course, a...
