Re: Belfast craft beer pubs

I was struck by the fact that the vast majority of craft beer on tap came from Northern Ireland and the Republic. I expected a lot more beers from the big hitting UK craft breweries but perhaps we were just unlucky with our timing. The Woodworkers and Errigle will often have English craft in, but t...

Re: Belfast craft beer pubs

I'd add the John Hewitt to that list. Decent enough selection, and the food is lovely, often with an interesting fish special. It's my usual spot for lunch when I'm up working in Belfast. It's also non-profit, owned by the Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre next door. They do have live music some ev...

Re: Dublin this weekend

Suppose Paddle & Peel could be worth calling into, if you're near it. It's your standard Galway Bay bar, but with pizzas. Down this weekend myself for the rugby. I assume I know the answer to this already, but is the selection in Lansdowne during rugby the same as for football, i.e. Guinness and Car...

Re: "Recent" Irish brewery openings - list

Old Mill Brewery in Convoy, Donegal are up and running from this week, with an 800L kit. Got chatting to the owner, Julio Diana, at Kinnegar's Indie Week event at the weekend there. He's a Brazilian lad who's been living here for a while, would have done plenty of homebrewing. They've an APA and an ...

Both confirmed now, along with Hawkes, an English cider crowd.

Brewdog's CinematicCircus

Saturday 7th July, 16:00-23:30 at Weston. 120 taps, music, circus acts and a film showing, on a runway, as you do. Yellowbelly and Third Circle confirmed so far. Priced at €16, with a few freebies for Equity for Punks and Yellowbelly Beer Club members. The price and location may keep the numbers dow...

Registered in Convoy. I'm presuming this is the work of a few homebrewers we'd be familiar with from round there. Interesting.

Downstream

Brewed at Mourne Mountains Brewery, every bottle has a unique QR code that goes into ridiculous detail about the beer. Gives weight of malts used, time it was mashed at, and more. It might come across as a bit gimmicky, but I think it's a great concept. The beer itself was lovely too. Describes itse...

Hyperlinks

Only a minor wee thing, but could it be changed so that hyperlinks open in a new tab, instead of following though on the same tab?

For those staying the night in Sligo town, how are you getting out to Ballymote? 3 o'clock train just?

Re: Bruges unmissables?

2-be Beer Wall is worth a visit.
It's touristy, and slightly gimmicky, yes, but the display of (they claim) every Belgian beer is impressive.
If you can get a table beside the window, and it's a nice day, it's a cracking spot for a few drinks and a view of the boats going past.

Bremen/Lower Saxony

Heading for three nights over Easter, flexible on where to stay. Any recommendations for a spot of beer tourism?
Goslar would be interesting, as the home of Gose, so might head there.
It seems limited craft-wise, but any decent pubs in Bremen?
