History of brewing in Ireland 11 years 10 months ago #1

Could anyone point me to any articles or books that deal with the history of brewing and also distilling in Ireland?

Ive googled the life out of it but I havent come up with much.

There's lots of good historical stuff in Iowerth Griffiths's Complete Guide to Beer and Cider in Ireland. For Guinness, David Hughes's A Bottle of Guinness Please is apparently the most comprehensive.

I was reading a book on West Cork the other night, Tea didn't really become common or available until well after the Famine however light beer making and home brewing was very common and accompanied meals (when available)during the famine and afterwards, so beer and food is not so new.
