For all those hankering after real-time beer lists, this could be the answer. Orderella is a Hailo-style app for ordering drinks (and food) in bars. What I really like about it is that, in theory, it means pubs have to have all their drinks listed, with the price, for users. That's dead handy, even if you don't actually use the app to order with.

It's just been launched in Dublin and has the Porterhouses and Banker's among the first clients. I hope there'll be more and that they actually stick with it. Also: a pint of Metalman in Banker's is €4.60, it says here.

Very handy as a real time app alright, provide they list everything

But the cynical side of me cant help muse on how it could go awry

Not necessarily- they could just list what the have a glut off and/or what they want to get rid of. Interesting to see also how quick/easy it is to remove a product from the list- though I guess it's not for locations with rotational taps...

Also, if you've already paid through the app they won't get the extra money.

Grand for a regular pub but speaking from experience, I think this would be a nightmare in a craft beer pub. Rotational taps, casks, seasonal bottles would be a nightmare to update if it's busy and people would be less likely to try rotational beers if they're just reading them off a list. You'd also have trouble recommending craft beer to macro drinkers if they never come up to the bar and just automatically order their usual.

In saying that, it would certainly speed up service in a busy pub, especially with the Paypal/credit card option.

It depends on the interface, eg if you can enter a beer and a price before it goes live for sale. But more than anything it depends on the people working there thinking it's worth doing.

The way I see it, it's an interface that allows for real-time beer lists at no extra cost. It would be advantageous for pubs with rotating taps who are already using it, to use it for this.
