The two events are different though, and at least this year the organisers did try to differentiate the two (different websites for starters). The September festival is the showcase whereas the St Patrick's festival is mainly just for drinking. I would also posit that the March event is for tourists and the September one is for the locals.

If the location was to change from the IFSC to a nicer venue, I doubt the event would get the footfall. Also, I could see another event popping up in its place at Georges Dock.

For myself, I definitely prefer the September event, but then I'm old and I like my luxuries; That being said, I had a cracking night last Friday with a great gang of people (might have been a couple of brewers there too) and some fantastic beer.

Yes, there was a nice spike in the Analytics over the weekend.

Likewise I'm no spring chicen myself I do think it's hard to appreciate good beer out a plastic cup. Plastic cups for beer I associate with Diagio beers at the O2
I'm by no means trying to knock the organisers and volunteers that worked hard to bring about the event but a warm venue, proper glasses and proper toilets I see as basics when enjoying a beer.

Seriously plastic cups negate everything for me, I wouldn't care if pints were a euro each.

Its not just a beer thing - tea is my second favourite beverage but I can not and will not drink tea that uses milk from a plastic carton.

I'm a freak though, hopefully you all had a good time and a few more craft beer fans were born.

Seriously?!
Where can you buy milk that's not in some form of plastic?

Ahhh... So this explains why you haven't been attending the Irish craft milk fest either.
