Reading [url=http://www.beoir.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=221:help-fund-a-new-brewery&catid=1:latest&Itemid=99:3srs93kp]John's latest article[/url:3srs93kp] on the front page, and myself mentioning them on the blog today, I had an idea. It's either brilliant or stupid but I think the former.
Here's the idea. Why not get Beoir members to help out in an organised way?
If we got 20 beoir members to give €50 in to a pool, we would have €1000 to brew our own batch of beer. That would give us all 10 bottles of our own beer that we would all (whoever can make it down) brew ourselves. Yes it's an expensive 10 bottles, but only about the same as you will pay in a pub. €5 per bottle to us but to the brewery, getting that €1000 will mean all the difference.
We would be giving something back in a meaningful way.
If we can get enough people involved, I can have a chat with Sam and see if he can throw in having our names along with Beoir added to his brewery plaque.
What say ye?
It's the kind of thing we could do from time to time for other startups. Though not too often I imagine.
I'm in with €50
