How many Irish breweries in planning phase? 6 years 11 months ago #49

7 windows and elbow lane are pretty close.

Muckish Mountain might already be live. I think they launched last week. They will be at the taste of Donegal, again, the same bloody week of the AGM

Not sure about the rest. I would say 9 white deer is probably fairly close.

Bru Brewery formerly Boyne Valley Brewing, Meath
Limerick Lady, Limerick
Holy Mountain, Mayo
Reel Deel, Mayo
7 Windows, Cork
Bridewell, Galway
9 White Deer, Cork
Cotton Ball, Cork
Muckish Mountain Brewery, Donegal
Wicklow Brewing Company, Wicklow
O Brother
Black Donkey, Roscommon
White Hag, Sligo
Independent Brewing Company of Ireland, Galway

Added counties for a couple, and removed Elbow Lane based on Andrew's statement that they are on sale somewhere.
I want to be a stickler for the county for each brewery because 1) It makes it easier to find info about them 2) At some happy stage further down the line, we'll want to look at all the new Irish beers and see what few counties don't yet have a brewery.

Saruman, any location details on O Brother?
(O Brother, where art though? Sorry, couldn't help it!)

Is this all launching breweries are real breweries (means brewing they own beers in site) or some of them are contracting breweries only ?
I would suggest a clear division into real breweries and contracting ones.[/quote:30ogq1hd]

Dividing them into real new microbreweries and brewing brands can be useful if you want to go visit the brewery and do a tour, but make no mistake - those who are contract brewing are there on site doing the actual brewing with their own recipe, they are just borrowing someone else's equipment because, hey - breweries are incredibly expensive.

Are you sure? They're not on the list on the website.
