People are entitled to an opinion. The McGargles brand is obnoxious.[/quote:3fr6jjwk]

Far be it from me to prevent people from having opinions but they've got nothing to do with this thread. Everyone on this site should be in total agreement that what was done was very twatish regardless of whether you like the beer or its branding

This thread and a similar thread on NHC concur that the Act was wrong, the product poor and the branding terrible.
The claim of insult could be for a number of reasons, the sentence being a boycott. Given that the soapbox was offered, we as consumers have the right of reply.

For the record - it wasn't me!

I have been very vocal about the branding from the start, I hate any sort of "Paddywhackery" and the beer is nondescript, I handed a sample of IPA back to a barman once and told him he had the lager and IPA taps mixed up - he didn't.
However, this is a childish stunt, the attack appears to have been perpetrated on the brand and not the brewer. Notwithstanding the offence caused to Rye River, I can't see it doing much harm to the brand. Those of us who are into our beer will usually skim straight past and those people who are looking for something different, but don't really know what they want will be attracted by the "funny" branding and buy it anyway regardless of whether its micro, macro, Irish, British or Martian.
It was a stupid petty act but if you can provoke such a reaction then you are at least having some impact on the world <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
