With regards to cask it's always annoying when all the craft pubs put on the same ones at the same time. This usually happens with English casks because the distributor brings over a pallet load at once and sells them all in the same week. A lot of times the casks are pushing to their best before date too which is annoying.

Food-wise I think charcuterie and cheese boards for sharing are good- Irish meats and cheeses please. Should gel well if the kitchen is limited.

My wife suggests that you remember nice wines, because inevitably you'll get people in there who still want that.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Meat and cheese boards are definitely there, no hot options for a while unfortunately. There will be a range of good wines by the glass, looking after the ladies will be a specialty.

Have a hard job of sampling meats, cheeses and pies during the week. I'll let you know what passes the tests <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Geoff:
Great to hear about the Headline. Although it has been a few years since we've left Dublin for Copenhagen, we had split some of our time between the good beer choices at B&C and the convenient proximity of the Headline from Hamilton Street - what a great combination now. We'll have to look you up the next time that we are visiting.

A little bird tells me you are opening Weds 24th, good luck with your new venture, I think the pie and pint is a great idea an I will knocking on your door for a few of them!
