Furey's (1 or 2 Kinnegar on tap and plenty of bottles) and The Swagman (few taps - Bru / Mountain Man etc., maybe 1 cask on and bottles) are my top spots in Sligo

Woo hoo!

I know for old time sake we will be visiting the likes of Hardagons & Connollys, so hopefully there's an odd surprise for me there too. But the Swagman will keep me occupied for most of the weekend!

Had a great couple of nights. Sligo certainly has lots of places that you can get decent beer in.

Yep, these places both had plenty to keep me occupied. Spent less time than i thought as Mrs Sarnie wasn't mad keen on the Swagman and wanted to check out some of her old haunts from her student days.

Was delighted that Furey's had (note, had <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> ) a few bottles of Kinnegar Blackbucket when i was there.

The Molson Coors fairy had definitely visited Sligo recently. Pretty much all the pubs we were in either had Rebel, Shandon, Friar Weisse or Chieftan- of combinations of them.

Most pleasant surprise was Hargadaons- always loved that place. They had Shandon & Chieftan but also Howling Gale & Barefoot Bohemian on tap and Carrig's Pipers Pale ale & Coalface black IPA on tap, as well as the WH Xmas ale. They seemed to be doing a roaring trade both nights i was in & the craft was been ordered by plenty. Also- they were actively promoting the fact that they had craft beer (posters, sampling glassses etc) which is great to see.

Shoot the Crows had the White Hag Wit beer on tap & Kinnegar Rustbucket in bottles.

Only dissapointment was that Connollys had nada- but when I was talking to the barman about supporting local breweries (namely, White Hag) he said he was in touch and had hoped to have bottles in before xmas and defintely will have them in the new year.
