@tube It is for lease but there are rumours that the Tyrone owner of the building will be selling.
The cask engines shall be moved to Mulligans where a complete overhaul of the cellar and bar area will be commencing this week.
Kavanaghs hasn't closed because of a lack of trade etc but because the owners felt they were spreading themselves too thin with Mulligans and the increasingly busy Brown Paper Bag Project. The brewery is only up for sale as it didn't meet our specification and another is currently in the process of being fabricated so expect a lot more from them and LMG in 2014.
Thanks for the support over the last 2 years everyone.[/quote:9wzdm0dc]
The food was excellent, better even than it's sister pub in my opinion, and truly meriting the 'gastro pub' moniker.
As mentioned above the staff were another asset, genuinely interested in providing good service to their customers (still not as common as it should be in Dublin).
We liked it enough that we made the trek up to it. The location was a bit of an issue though, although I accept it wasn't why they closed. I don't mind the distance from the city centre, but after dark the area felt dodgy enough to be off-putting.
